Some Wrigley Field fans were able to watch a little more action than they paid for – a total fight in the stands.
A 2 minute clip from the scrum, which erupted in the stands on the left after the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Cubs 5-1, shows two groups of supporters fighting and beating each other. other lines.
It is unclear exactly what triggered the free-for-all, but one can hear a fan who screams racial slurs during and after the fall. When the fan realizes that he's being recorded by another fan, he's screaming, "Do not record me."
At one point, three security officials do their best to dismantle the skirmish in vain.
"What's going on, bitch? "What's up, bitch?"
Another man is then injected between the two groups.
"There is no fight in the stands!" Shouted the man. "There is no fight in the stands!"
At least one unidentified fan was separated from the group by security personnel. The agitation ended when one fan shouted a racial insult to another, triggering a second round of demolition.
"Do not touch me," shouted a woman to other fans and security guards as she stepped away from the tussle. "Do not touch me!"
Julian Green, a spokesman for the Cubs, said that no arrests had been made as part of the fight, which began about 15 minutes after the match ended. The man who inspired his fellow fans to fight, meanwhile, is a "loyal believer" in Wrigley, Green said.
"The people in the stands are very serious about protecting their reclaimed land," Green told The Post. "We appreciate those who love to keep peace."
