The decision of a West Virginia library director to keep Bob Woodward Fear Outside of her library she went back against her.
Fear, an explosive book on the Trump administration, is already considered by many to be one of the most important books of the year. But for Donna Crocker, director of the Morgan County Public Library in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, the book did not fit on the shelves of her library.
She told Washington To post Friday that the library had not stored Fearbut gave no other reason for which. the To post said the city of about 600 people voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
"I do not want to be at the heart of this case," said Crocker. "We have other Trump books."
This initiative provoked outrage from many people in the small community and the rest of the country.
Rob Campbell, resident of Berkely Springs, wrote in a letter to the local newspaper, the Morgan Messenger, that he had tried to give a copy of Fear at the library, according to the To post.
"Recently, I called to offer Fear, Woodward's new book, but the library declined my offer saying they would not put books like that on the shelves, "read his letter.
The book, which Woodward claims to have researched with extensive use of verified sources, details a chaotic administration of Trump. Anecdotes include reported cases of aides taking documents from the President's office to prevent him from acting.
The book was sold more than 750,000 copies the day of its release, the biggest opening day of all the books in the history of Simon and Schuster, according to The Hill.
Crocker did not succeed. Connie Perry, chairman of the directors of the Morgan County Public Library, told Washington To post that she did not know that the director of the library had chosen not to wear "Fear" until the decision was published in the media.
"The board did not know anything about it," Perry told the Post. "We corrected that. The book has been accepted – in fact, two of them.
