WWE is midway through this year's four-day Survivor series, but it has already started public projects for the 2019 event – and it will be in Chicago.

The wrestling organization tells RedEye that next year's mega-wrestling festival will be held from 22nd to 25th November at the Allstate Arena (technically located in Rosemont).

This year's event is currently taking place at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The 2019 edition marks the 30th anniversary of the last Survivor Series visit to Chicago in 1989.

"WWE is so proud of our relationship with our fans in Chicago," said John Saboor, Executive Vice President of WWE Special Events. "Allstate Arena, dating back to the time when it was known as Rosemont Horizon, was such an important WWE partner, dating back to the 1980s."

The defining feature of Survivor Series is the confrontation between the WWE Raw and Smackdown brands – the only annual WWE event in this field.

Next year's event in Chicago will also be a first in programming. In previous presentations, the four-day program began with the NXT League Development Event on Saturday, the main event in the Survivor Series series, and then Raw and Smackdown in their traditional slots on Monday and Tuesday respectively on Sunday. USA Network network.

Smackdown will be relocated to Fox in 2019 and will then be presented on Friday at the Survivor Series' schedule, making it the first event of the presentation.

"I think the whole family and the WWE universe are looking forward to spending Tuesday through Friday night," Saboor said. "What an exciting springboard."

Matches and ticket prices for next year's event are to be determined.

"Chicago still has an electric atmosphere and audience. It's really something, he says. "Our superstars, with great frequency, mention that Allstate is one of their favorite competition venues in the country."
