WWE’s Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia is reportedly “very much in jeopardy, according to Dave Meltzer.

On his Tuesday show on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer delved into how the WWE is feeling about the increasingly controversial show and how their mindset has changed in just one week.

“The Saudi Arabia show is very much in jeopardy as far as what’s going to happen,” Meltzer said, as transcribed by Ringside News. “There has been, there’s only a few people who could get [WWE chairman] Vince [McMahon] — you know Vince was adamant about doing the show. I mean they’ll pull out if they have to pull out but it was going to take a lot to pull them out. I was told it would take [President Donald] Trump or government officials and there is something in that thing that’s out there.”

Meltzer added that the recent postponement of Crown Jewel ticket sales reflected the organization’s concerns about the show. WWE is a lot less “gung-ho” about the event in Saudi Arabia than it was a week ago. The WWE’s 10-year deal with Saudi Arabia, and the financial ramifications of pulling out, is the main complicating factor here.

The Crown Jewel pay-per-view and the WWE’s dealings with Saudi Arabia have been scrutinized wince the Oct. 2 murder of prominent journalist and Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi. After conflicting reports, the Saudi Arabia government acknowledged Khashoggi’s death and said it was a result of an rogue interrogation gone wrong.

When reached for comment following the reports of Khashoggi’s death, the WWE aid in a statement that they would “monitor the situation.”

On the Oct. 22 episode of Monday Night RAW, Universal Champion Roman Reigns relinquished his title to go on a leave of absence after his leukemia returned. Reigns was set to have a triple threat match against Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman, which has now changed the main event for the Saudi Arabia show.

Crown Jewel is set to stream live on the WWE Network on Nov. 2.
