The Conquistador wins the Royal Battle Royal of eight men: Corbin's transparent gesture aimed to make it easy for the tournament as this group was a comic collection of jobbers supposed to represent different countries. The masked Consquistador came out smartly from the ring to the opening bell and hid while sitting on the ground while the remaining wrestlers encircled Corbin until the gendarme throws them all to the pier. The Consquistador is then inserted to hit a trio of German suplexes and what appeared to be an Angle slam before Corbin fled on a clothesline to win the match. An unmasking revealed that it was Kurt Angle and all that he would have said during a behind-the-scenes interview was: "Technically, I'm still on vacation".
It was not just a fun segment, it was a good idea to book an intriguing story for the World Cup tournament, which should probably take the Angle-Corbin quarrel to Survivor Series. Thanks to WWE for having fun with the different jobbers gimmicks inside the ring. Angle has remained faithful to his historical comedy talent by concealing his identity behind the mask with danceable and amusing gestures. Grade: A-
Ronda Rousey is doubled
Ronda Rousey and the Bella Twins def. The Riott team via submission: In a rematch of the same Saturday match in Australia, Brie Bella and Liv Morgan set the tone early with an intense fight to remind Bella that she had accidentally injured Morgan a few weeks earlier. The exciting match built to a tag that allowed Rousey to clean the house. Nikki and Brie then helped by preventing Morgan and Sarah Logan from interfering when Rousey applied the armband to Ruby Riott for a small pat.
After the match, Rousey hugged the Bella Twins and raised his hands in victory. Nikki then attacked him from behind. After Rousey started working freely and the judo threw them out of the ring, his intensity earned him the best. As Rousey screamed in Nikki's face (and the censors were bleeding in the process), Brie attacked from behind and sent Rousey's face into the ring first. Rousey was then thrown into the ring steps and the wall of the barricade before the two sisters landed in front of Rousey inside the ring. Later, a match for the Rousey-Nikki title was announced for Evolution.
Almost all aspects of this have been perfectly managed. Not only was the game fun to watch, but the heel turn was synonymous with intensity and timing. The Bella twins have long been more valuable than the heels and seeing Nikki doing the #L on her forehead was like a nostalgic flashback for better days. While next week will be important for the twins to properly explain the rationale behind their false friendship, it's hard not to be excited for the Evolution game considering the power of the star. The only thing that has kept this result perfect is the lack of explanation on the fact that Natalya has not run to save Rousey. Grade: A
What happened to Raw?
- Bobby Lashley def. Kevin Owens through the intermediary of pinfall: While Lio Rush was working at the mic throughout the match, he was starting to show a much more physical side. The long two-legged match ended with a knee modification by Owens and a Lashley attack. Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox going through a pinfall: In what was nothing more than an advertising message for the Mixed Match, the return match between these two teams saw Balor and Bayley repeat their success last Tuesday. Bayley hindered Sunil Singh's attempt to intervene by knocking him off the ring apron and Balor followed with a Grace Stroke on Mahal for the flag.
- Ember Moon def. Nia Jax via countout: The pair of good friends highlighted the intensity of each other. The action occurred outside the ring late, after Moon's suicide-diving attempt failed to overthrow Jax. But Jax missed his follow-up attempt and hit the deck's video board. Moon plunged under the bottom rope just in time to beat the number of 10. After the match, Jax hugged Moon and raised his arm in victory while nursing his injured shoulder.

- Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre def. The Shield by Tomb: Another showdown of Super Show-Down produced an exciting match with a pay-per-view intensity. Previous segments did a good job of clarifying the current divide between the stubs as Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler continued to argue over who was the weakest link in the team. The arguments continued only in the match, mainly between McIntyre and Braun Strowman. An electrifying second half of the game saw several high points and suicidal dives in tandem of Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose that pissed the crowd. But the chaotic ending ended four men lying on the ground and McIntyre hit Ambrose from Claymore's kick for the 1-2-3. As the heels celebrated the ramp, Ambrose left his Shield brothers behind him in the ring and set off at full speed.
