With the merging of extreme rules, Tuesday's SmackDown Live edition was held in Ontario, California. Although this is not the best overall performance for the blue brand, which has made impressive efforts over the past few weeks, there have been notable developments as we continue on the path of SummerSlam. But undeniably, there was no greater development than the reunion to which we were entitled who closed the show this week.

Team Hell No is back together
The Miz has released The Bludgeon Brothers for the launch of SmackDown this week. After refusing to answer his first question, Miz then took over everything that happened last week – Bryan throwing him in the Bludgeon Brothers' eyes for Miz to steal the victory. Bryan then went to the ramp and proclaimed that he was afraid of any of the three men standing in the ring and asked who wanted the first one. Harper would answer the challenge.
Daniel Bryan defeated. Harper by disqualification: When Rowan interfered while Bryan was about to win the Yes Lock, the match was called. The Bludgeon brothers were beginning to tear Bryan up – until a familiar face headed for the ring to help Bryan, to the delight of all. The fire engulfed the building and Kane walked to the ring to make sure his Hell No Partner team no longer suffered punishment. The two finally cleaned up the ring of Bludgeon Brothers, and all that Kane wanted was one of their signature hugs. Bryan teased the crowd a bit hesitantly but eventually jumped into Kane's arms which drew a huge pop of everyone in the arena.
We were not finished yet, however, when general manager Paige emerged to announce that during the Extreme Rules event, Team Hell No will challenge Bludgeon Brothers for the SmackDown team titles.
One of last week's questions would be whether Bryan would enter a mini-rivalry with Bludgeon Brothers with a partner. Given his political obligations, the chances seemed slim that it would actually be Kane. But sometimes, WWE can surprise us in a good way, and that ended up at the end of this week's SmackDown. Now, for the next two weeks at least, we'll have some of those very entertaining Bryan-Kane segments that everyone has loved so much in the past while they're gearing up for another medal race. Gold per team. Grade: A +
Rusev begins his march towards the title of the WWE
Rusev def. Xavier Woods via submission: In his first television match since he won the right to be named No. 1 contender last week, Rusev beat Woods by making him submit to the Accolade. After the match, Rusev took the microphone and said that this victory was not anything other than AJ Styles. The challenger of the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules said that he knew that Styles is watching, and he knows that he is a coward, which has provoked dueling songs for both men. . He finished the promo saying that he's taking the title and that it's going to be a great day Rusev.
With the champions missing this week's SmackDown while they were in Australia to promote the Super Show-Down event this fall, Rusev was the only half of the WWE match at Extreme Rules this week. While the match against Woods was competitive, Rusev seemed to dominate as much as possible with the submission win, and that's exactly the way he should continue to be represented in his first opportunity at the WWE Championship. Good start for this refreshing program, and most importantly, a good start for Rusev. Grade: B +
What else happened on SmackDown?
- The "GLOW" distribution invades SmackDown: As the second season of the popular Netflix series takes place this Friday, the ladies of "GLOW" appeared in a backstage with Lana and Naomi. The two WWE superstars were discussing their recent dance-off when the cast was presented. There was a funny case where star Allison Brie metamorphosed into her Russian character Zoya The Destroyer of the show by standing next to Lana, before everyone was happy chanting "Feel the Glow!" "
- United States Championship – Jeff Hardy (c) against Eric Young finished in a non-contest: With Shinsuke Nakamura retired from the scheduled US title game, Hardy held an open challenge. The challenge was raised by SAnitY leader Eric Young, but the match has never been perfect. During the fight, the Usos – who were attacked by the beginning SAnitY last week – made their way through the crowd and fought with Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe. Young made his way to the ring zone, eventually wearing the fight in the ring allowing the referee to call for the bell. The scuffle ended with the dispatch of SAnitY by Usos and Hardy. During the commercial break, however, we would learn that General Manager Paige again made her best impression of Teddy Long by ordering a six-player team match.
- Jeff Hardy and The Usos def. SAnitY via pinfall: In the impromptu team match of six players, Hardy got the victory for his team after a Swanton bomb on Wolfe.
- Becky Lynch has won. Sonya Deville via submission: The momentum for Lynch on television continues to grow. Lynch made Deville touch the Dis-Arm-Her to win another victory.
- Andrade "Cien" Almas & Zelina Vega promo: Vega is reminded how Almas released Sin Cara weeks ago and warned that everyone on the list should stay out of their way. Short segment promo here, but it's nice to see that they have not been completely forgotten about talented pairing.
- Asuka against James Ellsworth for next week: Ellsworth cut a promo on Asuka in the ring, calling him even though she was not present. Paige, however, made her way to the square circle. Not only did she announce that Carmella would defend her women's championship against Asuka at Extreme Rules, but she also revealed that Asuka will face Ellsworth next week at SmackDown.
