It was announced tonight at WWE SmackDown that a traditional 5-on-5 team elimination match would be played at Survivor Series. Both teams will consist of 5 tag teams of each brand, making it a match to 10. The Usos will be the team captains of the SmackDown team. They have chosen The New Day to join them and they will announce the last three teams at the upcoming go-home show next Tuesday. There is no word on the RAW tag teams that will be in the game but we should know it next Monday.
In regards to the traditional Survivor Series 5-on-5 playoff match, SmackDown General Manager Paige announced Asuka, Naomi, Sonya Deville and Carmella for the team, but the team captain's name is not yet known. Paige also announced Charlotte Flair for the team, but she did not participate in the segment at SmackDown. The WWE website notes that Flair is not official for the match, unlike Asuka, Deville, Naomi and Carmella. It is likely that Flair will become the captain of the team next Tuesday, while Paige recently asked him to lead the team, but Flair refused.
SmackDown also saw the confirmation of the men's team SmackDown. It will be The Miz, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Rey Mysterio and SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon who will fight. Bryan and The Miz are co-captains of the team.
As we noted, team captain Alexa Bliss will be appointing 5 RAW Women Team members to the RAW workshop next Monday. We will also see the last two members of the RAW men's team and the red team teams for the team's traditional 5 on 5 elimination match.
