Kelsey Grammer went from the front to restart Frasier since the end of the show in 2004. Lately, he seems committed to achieving one. Although he claims that no definitive project was established on what the premise would be, the star confirmed that he wished the original distribution to be included.
Specifically, Kelsey Grammer was referring to co-stars David Hyde Pierce, Jane Leeves and Peri Gilpin, who accompanied her in a panel at the USC Comedy Festival Vol. 4. The Grammer comments (via Deadline) seem to mean if a Frasier We can expect this to be a premise that allows Niles, Daphne and Roz to be part of it. John Mahoney, of course, could not come back as Martin because of his death in early 2018.
The Kelsey Grammer update comes several months after the news that the actor was looking for a Frasier restart during the summer. The concept would have been rooted in the installation of Dr. Frasier Crane in a new city, possibly away from family and friends. The concept seemed familiar to many television fans, who first remembered Frasier as a Boston resident living in Boston. Cheers before moving to Seattle for his series of titles.
The news that Kelsey Grammer will not do Frasier restarting without his co-stars (or "Solo") does not necessarily contradict the news, as Frasier living in another city does not mean that he would lose contact with his friends and family. Daphne and Niles could always be seen as an episode on vacation with their child and Frasier would always find time for his colleague and long-time friend, Roz. There is even a chance that everyone has moved with Frasier in this premise. Who knows?
That said, Kelsey Grammer's statement that nothing is planned or engraved in the marble could mean that the information previously learned during the restart is no longer valid. Depending on the willingness of the cast to participate, interested parties may want to work with a premise that places the original stars more in the mix, as opposed to the casual appearance of guest star.
This could lead Dr. Frasier Crane to return to Seattle, perhaps for the first time since the final of Frasier. Frasier moved to Chicago to try to make up with his girlfriend, while Niles and Daphne stayed in Seattle with their new son and Roz became director of the KACL station. Of course, many things could have changed in the fictional world of the series since, it's been more than 10 years that we do not see what happens in the lives of these characters.
