USC Trojans quarterback Kedon Slovis will be ruled out of Saturday's game at No. 17 Washington, and junior Matt Fink will make his first career start, coach Clay Helton said Thursday.
Slovis, a real freshman who started the year as a substitute for starter back JT Daniels, started early Friday 's win over Utah and did not train this week. that he was in the protocol on concussions.
Fink, who entered the transfer gate in the spring before staying at USC, completed 21 of 30 passes for 351 yards with three touchdowns and a raised interception of Slovis. Previously, he had only tried 18 career passes in the past two seasons.
