TAMPA Florida State's No. 6 (7-0) puts his perfect record on the line on Tuesday at the USF. The Seminoles weekend against Maine and Youngstown State, while the USF is about to be swept by North Carolina.

The Bulls (3-4) and Seminoles have split each of the last two seasons in Tallahassee. This is FSU's first game of the season on the road after two weeks of rain in Jacksonville.

Velez is 2-0 with a deserved point average of 1.12 in two appearances. Tuesday will be the first start of junior college transfer as Seminole.

HISTORY – FSU vs. USF
Florida State is 71-16 of all time against the Bulls and has won 16 of the last 17 in the series. The last time the FSU went to Tampa to play against the USF, the Noles won 12-4.

MARTIN NAMED ACTOR OF THE WEEK
Freshman Robby Martin was named Atlantic Coast Conference Weekly Player of the Week on Monday. He is the first FSU freshman to be named player of the week since DJ Stewart won the award twice in 2013.

Martin was 8-on-12 with three doubles, a home run and eight runs produced in three games against Youngstown State. His six points in the second round against the Penguins were the most wins in Seminole since Drew Mendoza in 2017.

Martin leads the ACC in shots with 15 and RBI with 17.

FINAL SEASON MARTIN
Head coach Mike Martin became the most successful coach in NCAA history in the 3-2 win over 13-run FSU against Clemson last season. Martin has only 6 wins out of 2,000 career wins and 1,994-713-4 overall in 40 seasons.

Martin announced in June that 2019 would be his last year as a Seminoles coach.
