The United States Men's National Team will return to the nation's capital. U.S. Soccer announced today that the team will open up CONCACAF Nations League play October 11th at Audi Field in Washington, DC against Cuba.
An announcement that has been rumored for a few weeks, Audi Field will host its second match in just a few months. The D.C. United home, which holds 20,000, hosted the USMNT's match against Jamaica on June 5th, has 1-0 loss for the home team. They will be better off against Cuba in the beginning of the confederation's newest competition. Cuba has played the USMNT in DC in a competitive match before, the two teams last qualifying at RFK Stadium. The USMNT won that one 6-1. The two teams most recently went to Havana in October 2016, the USMNT winning 2-0. Head coach Gregg Berhalter will be in the lead of the season.
