UVMC will host free seminars on Parkinson’s disease

PIQUA – Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC) will be hosting free seminars on Parkinson’s disease for people living with the disease and their families.

Seminars will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, November 5 at the YMCA Richard E. Hunt Activity Center, 307 W. High St., Piqua, and on Wednesday, November 17, at YMCA Robinson Branch, 3060 S County Road 25A, Troy .

The programs will feature physiotherapists from UVMC who specialize in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. They will discuss ways to help cope with illness through changes in nutrition, activities of daily living, exercise and stress management.

Speakers will be Paul Kremer, PT, and Lauren Seger, PT, both certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) and Delay the Disease ™ Parkinson, an evidence-based, health-changing fitness and mobility program. life, offered at UVMC.
