Southern California has opened more sites to administer a COVID-19[female[feminine vaccine which is becoming increasingly difficult to find. In Los Angeles County, health officials have warned that without more vaccine shipments, the county would not be fully vaccinated until next year.
Since Saturday evening, vaccination sites across the country have closed and canceled appointments as frustration grew over supply issues.
The vaccine crisis comes as scientists worry that a new, more contagious British strain could become dominant in the United States.
This week, Jeff Wilson’s pharmacy in Pittsburgh administered its last dose, unsure of when the state would deliver more. He said, “I asked for 1,000 doses and they couldn’t give me any answers.”

In Texas, getting doses is like playing the lottery.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have enough to give every provider in the state every week. So we have to choose,” said Chris Von Deusen of the Texas Department of Health Services.
Stocks in New York City dried up, and in Florida, where there were no rules to prevent temporary snowbirds from being shot, the governor told non-residents to go elsewhere.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said they were not getting enough vaccines. “We have places that can do more and we want them to do more and we want them to do more,” DeSantis said.
Super vaccine sites, like the one at Charlotte Motor Speedway, have been instrumental in vaccine distribution efforts. The need is urgent: other highly contagious strains have now been detected and health workers are worried about receiving their second dose.

It will be a critical week for California – the CDC says the state is almost dead last in percentage of shots used.
