An emotional Valerie Bertinelli took to Instagram to thank her fans for their outpouring of support after trolls criticized her weight.

The Food Network star said she no longer felt so lonely as her followers commented on her candid video with messages of praise.

“Thank you. There’s so much cuteness out there. I certainly don’t feel so lonely anymore,” she began her video. “It’s shame that’s really hard to get rid of. That stupid emotion. which is absolutely unnecessary.

Bertinelli, 61, then joked that it was time to “call me back by posting delicious recipes” and move on to the trolls.

“Let’s have a really good day today, guys,” she finished her video.

Bertinelli posted a tearful video to internet trolls on Thursday night after making the “mistake” of reading her comments on social media and saw some of them tell her she needed to lose weight.

“Because you see, I don’t have a scale or I don’t have clothes that I try to put on every day, and I don’t have mirrors so I can’t see what I’ve become” , she said. sarcastically, fighting back tears. “So I needed that help to let me know I needed to lose weight.

“You are not useful,” she continued. “Because when you see someone who has gained weight, my first thought is, ‘This person is obviously going through some things. “”

And Bertinelli has “been through some things” over the past year – her ex-husband, rocker Eddie Van Halen, died last year after a battle with throat cancer. He was 65 years old.

They married from 1981 to 2007 and share a 30-year-old son, Wolfgang, whom she calls “Wolfie”.

She ended Thursday’s devastating video by saying that she had struggled to lose weight and keep it off.

“But since I haven’t been successful with it all my life – at 61 I’m still struggling with [it]. Do you think I’m not fed up, ma’am? she asked. “Not fucking useful.”
