Valorant patch 2.06 patch notes: Yoru and Viper buffs, Bucky nerfs

Viper and Yoru fans around the world will rejoice, because Valorant Patch 2.06 is here and with it a whole host of improvements to the less popular agents in the game. Here’s everything you need to know.

It’s no secret that the two most underutilized agents in Valorant are Yoru and Viper. The two have failed to really make an impact on both the professional and casual spheres for many different reasons.

However, with Valorant patch 2.06, players leading both Agents are in luck. Riot has kept his promises to make the Japanese Duelist and Mad American Scientist stronger, hopefully bringing them into the meta.

Additionally, the Bucky received nerves after becoming one of Future Earth’s most pesky weapons. Check out the full Riot patch notes below.

AGENT UPDATES

VIPER

  • Toxin (passive)
    • Enemies that pass through Viper’s Poison Cloud, Toxic Screen, or Viper’s Pit instantly suffer at least 50 disintegrations. Their level of decay increases as they stay in contact with the toxin.
    • In clouds, the decrease over time decreased by 15 >>> 10
    • Outside of the Viper Cloud, the delay before health regeneration decreases from 2.5 >>> 1.5
  • Poison Cloud (Q)
    • Can now be redeployed immediately after picking up, but grants a temporary charge instead of a permanent charge
    • If active when Viper dies, Poison Cloud will now stay active for an additional 2 seconds, or until Viper runs out of fuel.
    • Pickup distance increased by 200 >>> 400
  • Toxic Screen (E)
    • If active when Viper dies, the Toxic Screen will now stay active for an additional 2 seconds before deactivating.
    • The total blind distance from the wall has been increased to better match the blind distance from the edge of the fumes
  • Snake bite (C)
    • Reduced set-up time 1.1 >>> 0.8
  • Practical tools
    • In custom games with endless cheats and abilities activated, Viper can press and hold “activate” on Poison Cloud and Toxic Screen to recall them.
    • In custom games with infinite cheats and abilities enabled, Poison Cloud’s landing location is displayed on the minimap when equipped

YORU

  • Blindside (Q)
    • Flash activation time decreased by 0.8 >>> 0.6 seconds
    • Flash duration increased by 1.1 >>> 1.5
  • Gatecrash (E)
    • Gatecrash no longer refreshes during kills and is instead replenished every 35 seconds
    • Gatecrash shard lifespan increased by 20 seconds >>> 30 seconds
    • The range at which the Gatecrash Shard is revealed from stealth has decreased from 7m >>> 4m
    • Visuals for the visibility range added to the moving fragment
  • Dimensional drift (X)
    • Reduced Ult Points 7 >>> 6
    • Yoru can now reactivate Gatecrash in Dimensional Drift.

KILLJOY

  • Nanoswarm (C)
    • Killjoy can now pick up the Nanoswarm grenades deployed during the purchase phase to recover the charge.

WEAPONS UPDATES
BUCKY

  • Primary fire bullets spread (left click) decreased from 3.4 >>> 2.6
  • Decreased propagation on Alt-fire (right click) 3.4 >>> 2.0
  • Updated damage curve for primary and alternative shots
    • 0m – 8m is equivalent to 20dmg per pellet
    • 8 m to 12 m is equivalent to 12 dmg per pellet
    • Beyond 12m, 9dmg per pellet
  • Reduction of the quantity of pellets during a right click by 15 >>> 5

MODE UPDATES

CLIMBING

Capabilities

  • Raze’s Showstopper now comes with two Blast Pack charges that recharge when you hit the ground. Practice these boosts!
  • The Snowball Launcher now comes with skates – the increased mobility should give you an advantage against generally more lethal weapons.
  • Big Knife now comes with a Tailwind Charge (Jett Dash) that recharges when killed. Close all the gaps!
  • The variations in loading will be a little surprising and they will rarely appear. Let us know which ones you like!

COMPETITIVE UPDATES

  • You can now see a person’s career from the game leaderboard.
    • If you’re in the leaderboard, but don’t want to reveal who you are, you
      can take advantage of our shift in the client to qualify you as a “ secret agent ”

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • To improve readability, the mega-map now consistently uses a mouse pointer instead of a crosshair for map pings.

Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF)

  • Added an audio toggle located in the audio settings panel to enable HRTF
    • HRTF allows players wearing headphones to play audio in simulated audio space with surround sound.
    • Currently only Deathmatch steps, reloads, and respawns will be rendered in 3D with HRTF enabled
    • It is recommended that players turn off all other “3D Audio” processing when using this feature.

BUGS

  • 20 various bugs for agents, quality of life, competition and more fixed for this patch
