Steam's summer sales were accompanied by a Grand Prix this year which allowed free games to be distributed to users whose teams ranked well. Many people participated in games, but the only problem was that it was more complicated than expected, which hijacked some people. There were several teams, points to win, wish lists to consider and modify and tokens to exchange. Valve addressed the complications related to the event in the past and, as an apology and thanks to all participants, 5,000 additional users get a free game.
The site set up for the Grand Prix currently displays Team Corgi as the winner now that the race has been organized. The users of this team have had the greatest number of games on their wish lists since the team won a total of nine wins, which means that at least 2,700 users of this team received the game listed at the top. from their wish list. The way they won and what the players had to do was not always clear, a point that Valve acknowledged in a mid-race update in June.
"We have designed something quite complicated with a lot of numbers and rules and we recognize that we should be clearer," Valve said. "We wish to apologize for the confusion this has caused, as well as for the broken mechanisms that have led to an unbalanced event."
The event being over, Valve once again thanked all the participants for their participation. The company apologized for the "unexpected turns" encountered during the race and said it would plan better for the next races. It seems that we could very well see the Grand Prix come back in another form later. Whether this happens or not remains to be seen, but we at least know that some users are getting extra games from this event.

"As an extra gift for the participants, we randomly selected 5,000 users from all the Grand Prix Steam teams so that they receive the best game on their wish list," Valve said. "Randomly selected users will receive their gift within 48 hours of the end of the Steam Grand Prix."
Even if you did not participate in the Grand Prix and you were right on Steam for bargains, you probably took some games at a reduced price compared to the event. It is scheduled to end at 10 am local time, so you can probably take one or two more if you hurry.
