Vaping disease in the United States gives Canada a break while legal sales are close to

TORONTO (AP) – The serious lung disease that affects hundreds of people in the United States and sprayed with cannabis oil has caused a pause for Canadian health authorities as the country prepares to allow the sale of vaping products on its legal marijuana market.

No disease has yet been reported north of the border, but officials are monitoring the situation closely. Dr. Bonnie Henry, senior health official in British Columbia, said it was only a matter of time before the symptoms were reported in Canada.

Last year, Canada became the second country to legalize marijuana, but legal sales of edible products and vaping should not begin until the end of the year. Anne McLellan, a former Canadian Minister of Health, said products should not be used until researchers learn more about their effects.
