A murder suspect also wanted in an alleged assault on a law enforcement officer crashed into a semi-truck Tuesday night following a chase that stretched from San Diego to Los Angeles, according to reports.

The suspect allegedly assaulted a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputy when deputies attempted to contact the suspect after being alerted to the northbound pursuit, FOX 11 from Los Angeles reported. No details of the alleged assault were immediately disclosed.

The driver reportedly reached speeds of over 150 km / h on Highway 60, drove on the wrong side of the road, nearly collided with several cars, and drove on a sidewalk at one point during the chase that began towards 5:30 p.m., Los Angeles’ KABC-TV reported.

The driver and a passenger were taken into custody, according to FOX 11. No injuries were immediately reported.

The passenger was released by police and said she realized the driver, her friend, was a murder suspect, according to FOX 11.
