Vehicle hits four pedestrians on Freeport sidewalk

FREEPORT –

Police said several pedestrians were hit by a vehicle in Freeport on Monday afternoon.

The authorities claim that the incident occurred at South Long Beach Avenue and West Merrick Road, where four people were hit by a vehicle that crashed on a sidewalk.

Among the wounded were two children, one of whom was airlifted to a hospital, police said.

The driver of the vehicle was stopped.

There is no word on the situation of the victims nor on the charges against the driver.
