Vehicle safety inspection fees are likely to increase in Virginia

RICHMOND, Go. (AP) – Virginia drivers are likely to pay more for vehicle safety inspections.

The General Assembly has given its preliminary agreement to a law that will raise the price of an annual inspection of cars from $ 16 to $ 20.

Both the House and the Senate have approved slightly different versions of the bill with bipartisan support.

The lawyers stated that the fees had not increased for more than ten years and that this increase would ensure that the mechanics are fairly compensated.

Opponents of the measure said the current fees are fair and a 25% increase is too much.
