Apple has just updated its list of obsolete products that includes all products that, after a period of their life, are declared obsolete and therefore no longer receive any form of support and has included the first MacBook Pro with retina display, which was released on June 1, 2012, at its annual developer conference. In addition to having a retina screen, the 2012 model had a much thinner design compared to previous models, as Apple removed the built-in Ethernet port and the optical disc drive for CD / DVD.
Apple assures that obsolete products are those that have ceased to be manufactured more than seven years ago, and that has suspended all technical hardware support for obsolete products without exception. Service providers can not order parts for obsolete products.
Other models declared obsolete are as follows:
- 13-inch mid-MacBook 2010.
- 13-inch mid-2009 MacBook Pro
- MacBook Pro 15-inch mid-mi
- MacBook Pro 15-inch to 2,53 GHz mid-2009
