The Executive Director of Instituto Prensa y Sociedad ( Ipys ) Venezuela, Marianela Balbi, was awarded the Roche Award 2018 for Health Journalism in the Internet for Work Orphans of Health this Thursday, July 5; an investigation that coordinated with David González and the team of Ipys Venezuela and reporters of El Pitazo .
"Upon receiving this award we thought of all Venezuelan journalists for their ] daily struggle to do the work," Ipys Venezuela's executive director said during the delivery.

The work published on the portal web site of Ipys Venezuela, was selected among 360 applications of all Latin America . In the multimedia series Huerfanos of the health participated 40 collaborators under the editorial direction of David González Travieso
The jury was composed of the journalist of Jornal do Brasil, Cilene Pereira ; the president of the Argentine Network of Scientific Journalism, Nora Bär and the medical graduate and specialist in forensic anthropology, Juan Valentín Fernández de la Gala .
The verdict states that the work "draws a detailed map of Venezuelan reality in child health not to mention the personal side through very well-told stories."
The journalistic investigation reveals that despite an agreement between Argentina and Venezuela for the purchase and maintenance of equipment of neonatal units of public health centers in the country, 70% 12,353 devices are damaged due to lack of maintenance.
