This Sunday, members of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra offered a concert to commemorate his 40 years of experience in the national and international academic music scene.
The presentation was made at the National Center for Social Action for Music, in Quebrada Honda, under the direction of Maestro Andrés Ascanio
The anniversary concert was appreciated by the Minister of Culture, Ernesto Villegas , and the President of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Tibisay Lucena, who has been part of the Orchestra System since 1980, when he came in to play the cello.
The Venezuelan Youth Orchestra and Choir System was founded in 1975 by Maestro José Antonio Abreu. Three years after the creation of the System, the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra has emerged, a reference for music and artistic training on a global scale.
The creation of this orchestra was the first of the promises that Maestro Abreu fulfilled the children and young girls that he recruited during the many travels he undertook in various states of the country to the search for what is now known as El Sistema
