The driver who crushed and killed Venezuelan Carlos Wolff, a 36-year-old Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officer, was fined $ 280 for the case he was facing

. Although Roberto Garza was driving "recklessly and carelessly," his actions did not become "careless disregard" for human life.

Garza had a history of traffic violations. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and also served a four-month prison sentence for destroying the windows of 16 cars and lighting a couch near a construction site.

According to El Nuevo Herald, Carlos Wolff moved from Venezuela to the United States with his family in the late 1980s when he was eight years old.
