The initiative is the result of an association between the municipality, the University of Eindhoven and several construction companies.

Although this technique exists already in the world, homes designed with 3D printers are not usually intended for residence.It is a first in the Netherlands, because the houses of this new real estate complex will be rented.

The complex will consist of five houses of different sizes, the construction of which will be financed by r private investors. The first, with three bedrooms, would be ready by June 2019.

Each piece requires between six months and one year of work. The entire project will be completed in five years.

One of the main advantages of 3D printing is that it allows one to imagine a very free style.

But the initiative is also motivated by the problem of the shortage growing artisans in Holland.
