A new bilingual version of the popular Colombian telenovela I am Betty, the ugly under the title of Betty in New York was presented today by Telemundo in Miami, Florida (USA), where this television channel specializes in the Hispanic field.

Marcos Santana, President of Telemundo International, interviewed nearly 300 young people with different levels of experience.

Santana added that in the screenplay, they were working more than a year and a half with the support of Fernando Gaitán, author of the original television series, premiered in Colombia in 1999 and with over a dozen versions.

Sabrina Seara assured Efe that the adaptation of the scenario to modern times included the reformulation of female characters to reflect "the modern Latin woman".

NBC Telemundo President César Conde said that Betty in New York This is the first recorded production at the Telemundo Center, the new building that opened the chain this year in Miami.
