The Minnesota Twins announced Monday that they were claiming first baseman C.J. Cron from the Tampa Bay waivers list.

Cron played 140 games with the Rays last season, reaching 0.253 with 28 doubles, 30 homers, 74 RBIs and a base percentage of 323%.

Cron was chosen by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round of the 2011 project, from the University of Utah. He competed in five Great Carp seasons with the Angels and Rays, scoring 0.260 with 96 doubles, 89 homers and 287 RBIs in 548 games.

Thus, the alignment of Twins now has 39 players.
