On the morning of Tuesday, November 27, Gustavo Vizcaíno, director of the Administrative Service of Identification, Immigration and Foreigners (SAIME), reiterated in an interview extensions.

"We're looking at the 10-year passport expiry, it's almost finalized, we only need one point approval to be able to do it, the extension will take five years," said Vizcaino. .

He also said that this new process would be done with "a new passport that will expire ten years after the entry into force of the new passport regulation".

Vizcaíno pointed out on the other hand that even though the passport is already in force for five years, the new regulation will indicate that this passport is in life and will be extended with a force of five years.

On another point, the director of Saime recommended to Venezuelans to "ask for an extension" instead of asking for a new passport to avoid spending the contents of the imported passport.

It should be recalled that last August, Vizcaíno had already made the same statements in a press release published in the national media.
