Coinbase Wallet, provided by Coinbase, the largest cryptobolsa in the United States, has launched support for Ethereum Classic (ETC), according to an article published on the company's official blog on Nov. 27.
Ethereum Classic is the result of a strong bifurcation in 2016, which stems from the differences in the way of reacting to the much publicized backlash of the Ethereum blockchain (ETH).
Today's blog post indicates that the Coinbase Wallet app should be updated in the "next few days", after which users will be able to see, send and receive ETC information in their addresses. . For existing users of the Coinbase portfolio, your ETC address will be the same as your current ETH address.
In addition to ETC, Coinbase Wallet supports the storage, sending and receiving of ETH and "more than 100,000 ERC20 tokens".
As previously reported, Coinbase announced for the first time that it would include Ethereum Classic in its trading platform in June, which would have resulted in a sharp increase in asset value. After the launch of the listing in early August, ETC also joined the CoinBase index fund.
Also in August, Bittrex's wallet and cryptobole service added the US dollar (USD) -BTC pair, the same month that the cryptobolsa operating application, Robinhood, announced its own support for the asset.
At the time of this edition, ETC ranked 17th as a market capitalization crypto firm and quoted the market at $ 4.30, a decrease of almost 8% on the day, according to CoinMarketCap.
