Murdered merchant who opposed the theft of his truck in Petare

Luis Enrique Franquiz (35) received four bullets in the chest when he resisted the theft of his white Jeep Cherokee truck, in a Petare area, on Friday afternoon.

Franquiz was an independent worker in the sale of cheese and sausages, he was more than three brothers and father of five children.

About six o'clock in the afternoon, they intercepted him, tried to strip him of the vehicle, but he resisted, he fought with his attackers and lodged him beaten down. He died instantly.

A person who identified him warned Franquiz 's mother to settle at Bello Monte' s morgue.

OTHER CASES

Thirty-three corpses were admitted to the morgue this weekend: eleven on Saturday the 15th and Sunday the seventh.

Jonathan Oswaldo Pérez Ochoa (23 years old) was shot and killed while playing cards with friends in the Subida del Caballo area in Carapita, Antimano, on Saturday night. An armed man was killed without a word.

It was around 11 pm when the offender entered the field and pointed to Perez Ochoa. The others tried to interpose, but the man threatened to shoot them as well. After hearing the first shots, they rushed into confusion.

Perez received two shots, one at the chest and the other at the stomach. The shooter continued down the street and shot dead two other neighbors he had encountered on his way.

Pérez Ochoa was transferred to Pérez Carreño hospital, where he died.
Jonathan was a worker, unemployed and looked after his four year old niece while the parents were working. He was the youngest of five children. The oldest, Agustín José (19), was killed by a criminal gang in the same neighborhood 20 years ago.

None of the murderers were captured by the authorities, but "divine justice took care of each one of them"; says a parent.
