Nine workers of Ferrominera Orinoco will be detained at the East Judicial Detention Center, better known as the El Dorado Prison, in the state of Bolívar, after being brought before the courts of Puerto Ordaz.
Employees of the state-owned company have been charged with revenge crimes, breaching the nation resulting from the alleged destruction of a company vehicle, restriction of freedom of work, although sure of intimidation of a group of employees and treason the country.
One of the workers, dubbed Calzadilla, was charged with another charge of carrying illicit weapons.
The sentence imposed immediate deprivation of liberty and the court had decided, as a place of detention, the East Judicial Containment Center, known as El Dorado.
The unionists of the mining company were arrested Thursday by the Bolivarian National Guard in Anaco, in the state of Anzoátegui, after being seen protesting in that entity for wage improvements. Union leader Rubén González will be brought before the military courts in Caracas.
