The American actor Sylvester Stallone used his account Instagram to announce that he is saying goodbye to his iconic character "Rocky Balboa", this famous boxer who made it known in the 70s.

At 72, the famous actor made the difficult decision to suspend the gloves of "Rocky Balboa", after more than 40 years of the conquering character of the whole world.

"I just want to thank everyone for hosting the Rocky family in their hearts for over 40 years."Stallone wrote on the social network.

Rocky's first opus was released in 1976, followed by Rocky II (1979), Rocky III (1982), Rocky IV (1985), Rocky V (1990), Rocky Balboa (2006). After the saga came Creed (2015) and recently Creed II (2018).

"It was a privilege for me to be able to create and interpret this important character. Even if it breaks my heart, unfortunately, everything must stop."said the actor.

"I love you, kind and generous people, and the most wonderful of all, is that ROCKY will never die because he lives in you", he said on Instagram, where he shared a video of the last day of the Creed II recordings, which began a few days ago in the United States.

The actor and producer said he was ready for the generation relay.

"And I could not be happier because, looking back, seeing how my story was told, there is a whole new world open to the public, to this generation.", expressing the nostalgia of saying goodbye to the legendary character.

"It's probably my last rodeo, because what I thought would happen happened. I did not expect that … I thought that "Rocky" had ended in 2006 and I was happy.
