Marvel fans have been speculating for months on whether Chris Evans he really said goodbye to Captain America or will stay in the Marvel Universe after "Avengers 4".

The actor himself had shot the last day of filming with an "emotional" goodbye, claiming that it would be "eternally grateful" and that it was an honor to interpret the character.

"I think it was more emotional for him than us, just because he's not finished yet.", Joe Russo shared with ET Canada. "And I will not explain what it means, but the audience will soon understand what I'm talking about", added one of the directors of "Avengers 4".

With that, Russo leaves the door open for Evans so that he can continue to play Captain America. In fact the actor himself told the Chicago Comic Con that his "goodbye" might not be like that.

"I made a tweet with something that made me think a lot that it was sort of a spoiler. I should clarify that, no matter how ends "Avengers 4", I would have tweeted exactly the same thinghe told the fans.

"The last day of filming was a very moving day, the culmination of nearly 10 years of filming and 22 films … I thought it was appropriate to share gratitude. I know it had a domino effect, but I do not confirm or deny anything"he added.
