During a scheduled surgery, Argentine football legend, Diego Armando Maradona, was operated successfully Saturday in a clinic in Buenos Aires due to stomach bleeding, local media reported.
In early January, the current coach of the Mexican team Dorados de Sinaloa underwent routine medical examinations during which he detected a slight bleeding in the stomach.
By performing additional tests, the doctors discovered that the problem was related to gastric bypass surgery set up in 2015. They therefore programmed a surgical procedure to eliminate the bleeding.
"Diego Maradona has completed the operation, thank goodness everything has gone perfectly well," wrote on Twitter the lawyer of former football player Matías Morla, thanking the medical staff for his work and hoping that Maradona will recover and resume his work soon.
