Specifically, in the work conducted by the group of Xosé Bustelo of the Cancer Research Foundation of the University of Salamanca, in collaboration with the group of Jesús M. "Through this work, we have identified genetic signatures associated with this new biological process to predict with great reliability different parameters of the evolution of patients with breast cancer, such as their degree of long-term survival, their response to chemotherapy and the likelihood of developing lung metastases, "said the expert.
