The filmmaker, composer and music producer proudly speaks of the story of Uma (Alexandra Braun) and Leo (Orlando Delgado), a well-known couple on the Amalfi Coast and whose fate will change when 39, an accident of the accident threatens to end their love.
– Give me back life ] and now Uma Are you interested in telling stories signed by tragic circumstances?
– Both are framed in the dramatic genre, but that's the first time I am fusing with romance.
How did the film shoot in Gaeta in Italy?
-This was wonderful because we had the support of the governor, who provided us with accommodation, catering, rentals, permits and even access to the movie on a sailboat. It was a very nice experience, we had a good time.
-How did your protagonist behave?
-I've been happy about the work of everyone of you, especially with that of Alexandra Braun, whose character carries the weight of the film, at the bow most developed, deep and complex; with casting in general.
-What was the biggest challenge you faced?
-The scene of the accident. We did it with a professional driver who did it in a lot of international films and in the most organic way possible and that required that sort of a shot that had to be perfect because it was what was on the table and if he wanted to come back do it had to be another day and pay again, but thank goodness it worked wonderfully, despite the obstacles we had.
– Some actors speak in Spanish and Italian, how was this process?
– I managed the language in the most natural way possible. Uma lives in Italy and speaks Spanish when the Latin characters are there and speaks Italian when the Italians were there. With one of the doctors, who was a relative of Franco, Leo's father, he had dual nationality and the same thing happened.
-How did he manage to get the project together financially?
-C is a co-production with the United States, Venezuela and Italy
-He released his two films, is this one of the hallmarks of his work?
-Uma was to be shot in Merida, but complications arose and we looked for an alternative and what better alternative than beautiful Italy? And though it 's true that I did my two films abroad, both of them identify Venezuelan nationality with another nationality, that is to say that it was is an international concept. My roots are important to me and living in Miami has given me the facilities to do it, but I am open to a future Venezuela to be one of my places.
-As a filmmaker, what does it look like? Uma ?
-A sweet taste, with a little mixed feelings. It's a story that has a positive message, an example and that tells you that despite the obstacles you have, at the end of the day there is hope.
