Omar González, a member of the National Assembly (AN) and a member of Fracción 16 de Julio, said on Tuesday that he would discuss in Parliament the case of the former government treasurer of the late President Hugo Chávez, Alejandro Andrade, and the current president of Globovisión Raúl Gorrin.

González described the case as one of the most important acts of corruption in history. He recalled that it was a network linked to preferential currencies sold in the parallel market, to bribery of senior officials and to the recognition of criminal acts when it came to trading. he was treasurer of the Republic.

"Andrade admitted to receiving a bribe of more than a billion dollars from Raúl Gorrin, with the money they could have acquired 400,000 cancer treatments, they could have vaccinated all the children of the country. They could have been feeding Venezuela's entire population for a while, "he said.

"We will propose the creation of a special commission composed of deputies of all fractions to investigate this scandalous framework of corruption that largely explains the shortcomings we see," said the MP.

He argued that parliamentarians would seek US justice to have corresponding acts to establish the crimes in Venezuela.

"The Palermo Convention, signed by this government, establishes the possibility of co-responsibility of ministries of justice worldwide in the fight against corruption, and our country adheres to this agreement." We will ask the TSJ (in exile) to: establish all the appropriate investigations in this case, "he added.
