Mexico City .- The British data analysis company Cable which provides broadband services, TV and telephony, recently published its 'ranking' of countries in the world with the highest speed of the Internet connection.
Cable analyzed 200 countries based on their average broadband speed in megabits per second. The data was compiled by the company between June 2017 and May 2018.
According to the analysis, the speed of broadband differs not only from one country to the next, but also varies depending on the area in which the person is found in a certain territory.
The study reveals that Singapore is the country with the fastest Internet connection on the planet, with an average speed of 60.39 megabits per second (Mbps). The second and third places are occupied by Sweden (46 Mbps) and Denmark (43.99 Mbps). The "top five" is completed by Norway (40.12 Mbps) and Romania (38.6 Mbps).
According to the analysis, Latin America has very low internet connection speeds. Thus, Uruguay ranks 78th with an average speed of 6.19 Mbps, followed by Cuba (5.83 Mbps), Mexico (5.69 Mbps), Peru (3.31 Mbps), Colombia (3.25 Mbps) and Argentina (3.18 Mbps). They are followed by Brazil (2.58 Mbps), Haiti (2.42 Mbps), Bolivia (1.90 Mbps) and Paraguay (1.73 Mbps). The most adverse index of Latin American countries is occupied by Venezuela, with an average speed of 1.24 Mbps.
Like other countries, Spain ranks 16th worldwide (with 27.19 Mbps), The United States is significantly behind average speed (25.86 Mbps) and ranks in 20th place.
