Buffett and his longtime business partner, Charles Munger, have already cracked down on crypto-currencies.

Cryptocurrency pioneer Justin Sun offered a record $ 4.57 million to Warren Buffett, a critic of virtual currencies.

Sun launched Tronix, also known as Tron or TRX, in 2017. It is valued at $ 2,560 million and is the tenth largest cryptocurrency in the world, according to data provider CoinMarketCap.com. The 28-year-old Chinese businessman said he hoped to inform the Oracle of Omaha about crypto-currencies and the underlying technology, blockchains.

"It's very common in investment circles that people change their minds," Sun said during a phone interview. "Investment opportunities are better when many people underestimate the technology."

Buffett and his longtime business partner, Charles Munger, have already cracked down on crypto-currencies. Munger, 95, called Bitcoin "a poisonous poison." Buffett, who said that no value was generated from this asset, at least gave blockchain technology a boost to qualify it as "important" in an interview of this year.

"Even one of the most successful investors of all time can sometimes miss a wave," writes Sun in an open letter to the cryptocurrency community.
