The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights will meet the Honduran Minister of Foreign Affairs, María Dolores Agüero, during her next visit to the country to discuss respect for human rights in the context of human rights. November 2017 elections.

This was highlighted on Friday by IACHR Executive Secretary Paulo Abrão, at a press conference at the agency's headquarters in Washington.

Abrão explained that the highest ranking member of the Honduran government Chancellor Agüero plans to meet, although they also requested a meeting with the president, Juan Orlando Hernández, for the end of the visit, which will take place between July 30th and August 3rd.

After the elections, Honduras experienced strong demonstrations with acts of vandals that left several detainees, which the opposition considered as political prisoners.

As explained by Abrão today, the United Nations and the IACHR, an autonomous organ of the OAS, have killed 34 during the demonstrations, a fact that they now want "Check" and "accurate er "to see if" causal links "can be established between these deaths and post-election violence.
