Governor announced the elimination of Diep and the establishment of the Sipez police investigation service

After the security meeting that takes place every week with the police, the army and the state services of Zulia, the governor of the entity, Omar Prieto Fernandez, announced the removal of the Directorate of Intelligence and Preventive Strategies Zulia (Diep). and the creation of the police investigation service of the state of Zulia (Sipez).

"The Diep is eliminated as a research unit, that of Zulia and all the municipalities." Diep has a history of several years, which has accumulated a series of events that instead of helping to discredit the police institution, "he said.

He added that this police investigation unit on the Zulia Bolivarian Police (Cpbez), led by Colonel Carlos Manjarrez, will include a new police component, which will be selected from several agencies.

He reported that among the officials who worked in the Diep eliminated, some had been fired and others reincorporated to their patrol work.

The regional leader insisted that the new research and intelligence system must act in depth, as well as the Scientific and Criminal Investigation Corps (CICPC) in terms of science, methodology and planning.
