About 15,000 men and women members of the Force Publique parade this Friday in commemoration of 208 years of independence under the slogan "Colombia only one force".

Father Juan Manuel Santos, government officials and senior officers were present.

The parade which ran in career 68 at the Military School "General José María Córdova", was seen by hundreds of Colombians with flags of their country and, even, T-shirts of their national team that reached the knockout stages of the Russia World Cup in 2018.

Similar parades and other events are held in various municipalities and cities to celebrate the 208 years of independence.

Every 20 July Colombians remember the Colombian episodes known as the Vase Events brawl between Spaniards and Creoles in the vicinity of the Colonial Bolivar Plaza, which marked a milestone in the libertarian feat when lighting the emancipatory flame.
