Caracas .- Workers from different hospitals in the city of Caracas submitted a document to the Venezuelan Bishops' Conference (CEV) on Wednesday requesting medical supplies and decent wages.

Moraima Hernández, Maternidad Concepción Palacios, asked for support to representatives of the Catholic Church who were in the place. He also noted that the health situation in the country is critical. " We can not remain silent about the situation of hospitals, we can not remain silent when our colleagues are starving," he said.

For his part, Saúl Ron, Vicar of the CEV Justice and Peace Commission, stated that the humanitarian aid that arrives in the country does so under certain "conditions" and that the Government does not want the humanitarian channels to be open because, for the state, "nothing happens here" "

In connection with these declarations, the president of the Venezuelan Medical Federation, Douglas León Natera, affirmed that the government "promises situations but does not comply" and that health workers need a fair wage.

The union, after negotiating with police authorities, denounced the poor diet that the patients received and invited the clergy to intercede with the government and listen to their demands.
