Keri Russell joins the cast of the ninth part of "Star Wars"

Los Angeles – Actress Keri Russell, known for her roles in the television series Felicity and The Americans will be inducted into the cast of the ninth installment of the saga Star Wars still without official title, informed the specialized magazine Variety .

In this way, Russell will again combine with the director of the film, J.J. Abrams, with whom he previously worked Mission: Impossible III . Abrams was also one of the creators of Felicity with Matt Reeves, Efe critics.

The publication maintains that there is scant detail about Russell's character in the film, but he says that he will be involved in large action scenes and of battle.

The artist recently completed his participation in The Americans and among his best-known films are The Dawn of the Planet of the Monkeys and Free State of Jones .

Star Wars: Episode IX concludes the third trilogy of Star Wars which began with Star Wars: The Awakening of the Force directed by Abrams, and continued with Star Wars: The Last Jedi with Rian Johnson behind the scenes.

This ninth chapter was originally made by Colin Trevorrow, director of Jurassic World but creative divergences with Lucasfilm led the studio to finally bet on the return of Abrams to the presidency of the director

. Abrams is also co-author of the script with Chris Terrio ( Argo ).

The film, which begins shooting later this month, will be released in theaters in December 2019.
