LG announced this year 2018 its new range of OLED TVs that arrived in the high end (models C8, E8, G8 and W8) with the novelty of the advanced image processing of Alpha 9 processor able to improve the scaling, motion and microdetails of the image.
Now that the CES 2019 is approaching, it is time to move forward with the news and the brand has announced that its next TVs would incorporate a second version of this processor. called Alpha 9 Gen 2 (or second generation) able to offer advanced image processing and perhaps some features requested by most players like the HFR.
To begin, the new Alpha 9 Gen 2 increases the number of steps for processing the definition of videos by getting, according to its creators, greater clarity of images minimize artifacts, compression faults and the classic noise present in digital video.
They also claim that they have improved the processor's ability to handle aspects of the image such as contrast or fidelity of colors with new algorithms that use seven times more color references than in previous versions.
But one of the novelties of this year will undoubtedly be the ability of the processor to process video HFR (high frame rate) or high frame rate at 100 and 120 frames per second, although they have not indicated whether this feature would also be offered by HDMI inputs, for example for advanced PC readers looking for this feature.
