MVS | Mexico City – Alyssa Carson, a 17-year-old American astronaut in training from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is preparing for her future mission: to conquer Mars. However, although the young woman is clear about her vocation for three years and that NASA takes her into account for her projects, she will be able to apply as an astronaut until the age of 18.

At seven she was for the first time a space camp. By the time she was 12, Alyssa had become the first person to visit each of NASA's three space camps in Huntsville, Alabama; Quebec, Canada; and Izmir, Turkey

In an interview for Teen Vogue magazine, it was announced that NASA is already working with the teenager to make sure her big dream is realized and has a good chance of success . If all goes well, by the year 2033, when Alyssa turns 32, NASA can count on her to become the first human to set foot on the red planet.

Until then, NASA will have to share its enthusiasm with other space organizations, such as SpaceX at MarsOne, which has indicated its intention to send it in space mission much earlier.
