Regarding the new equipment acquired, the head of the MINSA's vector control department, José Lasso, emphasized that they would help to increase coverage for applications with major misting equipment; this will also allow areas of active dengue, Zika or chikungunya transmission to be more likely to succeed.

With regard to the areas most affected by Aedes aegypti, Lasso indicated that they corresponded to the regions of San Miguelito, Metropolitana, Panamá Oeste and Colón. The same is due to the volume in waste management.
