The sequel to Gladiator after 19 years says "present" to all fans of movie theaters and is that, although it was not planned, the film starring Russell Crowe and directed by Ridley Scott in 2000, very soon there will have its second part.
Producers Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, Ridley Scott's "Gladiator" tracking officers, confirmed that the sequel of the film would run 25 or 30 years after the timeline of the original.
Parkes told the HyeuGuys portal in an interview that the delivery of Gladiator 2 "Take back the story 30 years later … 25 years later".
"We are working with Ridley, it's a subject we would not touch if we did not think the way to do it was legitimate (…) We're also working with an amazing writer, Peter Craig," stressed Parkes and MacDonald in an interview with HyeuGuys.
Gladiator has won several awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Crowe and three Oscars at the 73rd Academy Awards, as well as Best Picture at Golden Globes, BAFTA and Producers Guild of America.
The distribution has raised more than $ 457 million worldwide, making Gladiator the second most profitable film of 2000.
There is a lot of doubt around the film because no one expected that a Gladiator suite could be consolidated on the big screen after almost 20 years, since the parcel of the first delivery was completely closed.
Until then, there is no scheduled release date or production start, fans have to wait to discover the secrets and surprises that will bring the new story of gladiators on the big screen.
