Alejandro Rísquez, a pediatric epidemiologist and a member of the Venezuelan Society of Infectious Diseases, warned that rains in the country may cause bronchitis and pneumonia, especially among children.

"With the arrival of the rains, the people are more protected and being agglomerated easily transmit all diseases by air and respiratory," he said in an interview for Radio Union.

The doctor urged Venezuelans to take preventive measures during the rainy season. He also stressed that vaccination is essential to avoid discomfort.

"You have to make sure that the water you drink is the most drinkable, you have to put filters or boil them to reduce any contamination," he said.
