Retirees protested against payments "chucutos"

In Ciudad Guayana, pensioners stood up this Wednesday blocking the streets of Alta Vista, demanding full payment of their benefits and high cuts

According to the elderly, different banking entities have only canceled two million, in the notes of 500 and 1000 bolivars, which, although still in force in the current currency, are not accepted in the public transport units nor in the commercial establishments.

THE ESTABLISHMENT IS 8,400

It is important to remember It is expected that pensioners will charge 8 million 400,000 bolivars, as announced by the Venezuelan Social Security Institute (Ivss), amount corresponding to the retroactive of June, July and August, but this Wednesday the payment received was two million.

Faced with this situation, and tired of the promises of the government, the elderly decided to block the main avenues of the country, to attract the attention of the authorities.

María Jiménez, 67, who was in Alta Vista, Puerto Ordaz, with a group of elderly people, described as a "mockery" the payment of two million bolivars in low-denomination notes, making sure that in the buses the collectors break the bills in front of the users who pay with the 500 or 1000 bolivars.
